Nearly 1,600 boats competed over the 50-mile course around the Isle of Wight in a race that saw some of the biggest names in the sailing world competing with weekend sailors and family crews".<br />

I managed to catch it as the main fleet passed St Catherines point at the southern tip of the island.

I managed to catch the leaders as they passed the western tip of the island mid-afternoon, going round the Needles, past Totland & Colwell Bays & Hurst Castle Lighthouse.<br />
